    Fresh & Rich

This Barbera is rich and elegant to say the least. This red has a silky round mouth-feel that lingers deeply on the aftertaste. Both the nose and palate exude notes of roasted coffee, crushed rose petals, and blackberries. This is a powerful red that delivers on body but is delicate on the finish.

    Savoury & Classic

Domenico Clerico is known for their world class Barolos. His Del Comune di Monforte is the entry level to experience this fossil land composition. High levels of active limestone, clay, sand and loam are the foundation to these iconic lines of Barolo wines. The nose on this wine is filled with crushed red rose petals and leather. The palate reads lots of cherry with a hint of wet clay.

    About the Winery

    Domenico Clerico

Located at the heart of Barolo in Monforte d’Alba, the Domenico Clerico estate has been making iconic wines since 1976, when the eponymous young winemaker took the reins. Beginning with just a small 4-hectare farm inherited from his father, Domenico sought out the best undiscovered plots in Barolo, thus pioneering the idea of single cru wines.

    Distinguished & Harmonious

A Barolo, born from the overwhelming desire of Domenico to try his hand at new adventures, the “wild aeroplane”, as he used to be called by his father, in 2006 he chose to branch out from the town of Monforte and strike out in a new territory: Serralunga D’Alba. This wine is produced with Nebbiolo grapes deriving from a vineyard collocated in Serralunga d’Alba and it distinguishes itself from the other kind of Barolo wines produced in this cave both for its characteristics and for its label: 6 different labels that represent the Aeroplan Servaj lay inside a wood packaging, while outside there is the legend of the wine’s name. Elegant Barolo wine with an intense and transparent ruby red colour; the smell of it emanates a various and intense bouquet with the floral aroma of violet, rose, blueberries, raspberries, and spices. Wine of great balance and persistence that combines perfectly with red meats, and seasoned cheeses. It has a good capacity of aging, too.

This Barolo showcases the artistry of a skilled producer in a challenging vintage. The bouquet is a captivating medley of spices and dried fruits, ranging from cherry and currant to pomegranate and plum, all beautifully intertwined with a delicate licorice note. On the palate, the wine is firm and well-structured, with fine-grained tannins that promise great aging potential, although the wine drinks well now. Despite the vintage's reputation, this Barolo defies expectations, delivering a pretty and elegant expression that highlights the grower's expertise and the wine's ability to evolve gracefully over time. It is a testament to the resilience and potential of Nebbiolo in the hands of a master.

The 2020 Riesling Bernkasteler Lay Auslese ** (White Capsule) is pure, refined, and fresh on the precise and concentrated but bright and shining, transcendental nose that is intense and ripe but doesn't show any tropical fruit aromas. Crystalline, highly refined and saline on the palate, this is a rich and very intense Riesling whose electric acidity takes all the weight and concentration up a steep flight to heaven, where the wine flies possibly forever like a satellite around the globe. The finish is so juicy, so saline and so precise that one can't leave the glass without a sense of wonder. So much finesse and intensity in one glass.

Markus Molitor vineyards are located from Brauneberg to Traben-Trarbach and since 2001 also in the Saar Valley. The variety of slate soils and micro-climates allows us to vinify numerous facets of Mosel wines. Molitor wines are literally rooted in their slate soils. Deliberately sensitive and restrained vineyard management, low yields, and late harvest of physiologically ripe grapes make for a matchless wealth of flavor extracts.
