Founded in 1886 by Elvino Miali in Martina Franca, in the heart of Puglia’s Valle d’Itria, Cantine Miali is a family-owned winery with a history spanning four generations. Following the devastation caused by phylloxera, the Miali family recognized the potential of the region’s white grape varieties, particularly Verdeca and Bianco d’Alessano, helping revive local viticulture and supplying white wines to Cinzano and other international vermouth producers. In 1960, the winery embraced a new chapter by launching its first bottled wine, reflecting the family’s confidence in the quality and identity of its territory. Nine years later, Martino Miali contributed to the efforts that led to the recognition of the Martina Franca DOC. Today, the fourth generation of the Miali family continues this legacy, combining tradition, regional pride, and a commitment to expressing the distinctive character of Valle d’Itria through its wines.
