Gere Attila Winery
Gere Attila Winery is in the Villany wine region, situated in the southernmost tip of Hungary. The origins of viticulture in this wine region go back to Roman times and it has the highest number of sunshine hours in the country, allowing it to produce full bodied Bordeaux style Cuvees.
The Gere Family started producing wine 7 generations ago and the winemaking skills passed on from one generation to the next, and today it still run by all members of the family. They own some of the most famous, highly regarded vineyards in Villany. The 72 hectares are planted with only red varietal and since 2010 all vineyards owned by the Gere Attila Winery are farmed organically.

This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon is a great example of the characteristics of a Villany Cabernet. Overripe blackberry, raspberry and a hint of strawberry dominates the nose with some tobacco and bitter chocolate. This is a full bodied food wine, with a well-balanced Oakiness, hint of white pepper and underlying tannin that still lets the fruitiness shine through.
16 months of Oak aging in large Casks.

This medium ruby colored cuvee has a fruit driven nose, dominated by Blackberry and delicate spices. It tastes silky and complex with stone fruits dominated by cherry and an elegant bouquet. The medium body, good acidity with relatively low tannin makes this wine a winner when it comes to food pairing, but drinking it on its own is also highly recommended.

This premium Cabernet Sauvignon received a lot of attention during the winemaking process. It's made only from selected grape berries and went through a malolactic fermentation in wooden casks followed by 16 months of barrel aging.
Deep lilac colour, very pleasant oakiness, suede leather, blackcurrant, black cherry and some ripe figs dominates the nose. The taste is well balanced with black pepper, cloves, silky dark chocolate and blackcurrant. This full bodied wine will be a great companion with your Steak, Lamb, Osso-Bucco and a variety of BBQ items. It drinks well already, but has a great aging potential as well up to 10 years.
