Intense & Harmonious
The 2015 Paolo Bea 'Rosso de Véo' is a distinguished Umbria IGT red wine made predominantly from Sagrantino (65%), with Sangiovese (25%) and Montepulciano (10%). Sourced from the Cerrete vineyard at 400–430 meters above sea level in Montefalco, this wine is crafted with organic practices and undergoes spontaneous fermentation with a 36-day maceration. Aged for 20 months in stainless steel vats, 10 months in large oak casks, and 30 months in bottle, it is bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur. The result is a dense ruby red wine with complex aromas of dark fruit, exotic spices, and leather, and a round, harmonious palate with soft tannins. A true expression of Montefalco’s unique terroir, it reflects Paolo Bea’s commitment to natural winemaking.
About the Winery
Paolo Bea
The Bea family of Montefalco embodies a centuries-old philosophy of living and working in harmony with nature. Deeply rooted in their land and traditions, they produce natural wines without synthetic chemicals or forced stabilization, allowing the true character of each vintage and terroir to shine through. Led by Giampiero Bea and supported by his family, their work reflects a profound respect for biodiversity, cultural heritage, and the rhythms of the earth. Every step of the process—from vineyard to bottle—is carried out with patience and care, guided by observation, lunar cycles, and ancestral knowledge. Their wines are not the result of industrial standardization, but rather of thoughtful agriculture that seeks balance between human hands and natural forces. The result is honest, healthy, expressive wines that speak of place, time, and tradition.
