The nose is intense, revealing blackberry, black cherry, plum, violet, Mediterranean herbs, cocoa, and sweet spice. Full-bodied and structured, its firm, refined tannins are balanced by vibrant acidity. Flavors of dark berries, licorice, and spice develop seamlessly, leading to a long, persistent finish. The Valentini family has been connected to the City of Montefalco by history and personal experiences for over one hundred years.
The background is the special Umbria Region, full of history and culture, where the act of every farmer is full of folk wisdom, simplicity, passion and sacrifice.
The family’s philosophy is influenced by the history of men working in fields, surrounded by the rare beauty of it’s hilly landscape.
In 2002, the Valentini family continued their tradition by establishing Bocale, a winery in Montefalco. "Bocale" refers to a two-liter mug of wine or olive oil, and it's also the family nickname. Their Montefalco Rosso and Montefalco Sagrantino wines blend innovation with tradition, respecting environmental cycles and handcrafted processes to create natural, personality-filled wines.
