Complex & Elegant
Gobbo IGT is a full-bodied, dry Bordeaux-style blend made from 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 20% Marzemino. This wine is elegant and dynamic, with complex aromas of cherry, prune, vanilla, walnut husk, and sweet spices. The 2008 vintage was recognized as one of Italy’s Top 100 Wines by the Guida Critica Galosa in 2012. Named after the hilly vineyard terrain where the grapes are harvested, Gobbo has been the flagship wine of Peri Bigogno since 1946, and remains one of their most cherished reds.
About the Winery
Peri Bigogno
Peri Bigogno, a family of winemakers since 1946, traces its roots to the Castenedolo hill, nestled between the city of Brescia and Lake Garda, where the passion for viticulture has thrived for centuries. For over seventy years, the Peri family has worked to preserve the winemaking traditions of their region. In 1972, Mario and Maria pioneered the creation of "Gobbo," a blend of the best red grapes, followed by the first harvest of Chardonnay in 1980, dedicated to producing Castenedolo’s first “Champennoise” sparkling wine. Today, their son Andrea and his wife Francesca continue the legacy, sharing their wines both in Italy and internationally.
