This red is from a single vineyard known as F-block, within the Vineyard Georges III, in Rutherford. This particular wine is a very decorated member of the Sojourn Family and is known for a decadently complex nose. This includes, charcoal, forest floor, smokey leather and mossy earth. The palate delivers lots of cassis, dark fruit, oak, vanilla, and dark chocolate.

In 2001, Sojourn Cellars began as a collaboration between two friends–Craig Haserot and Erich Bradley who decided to produce small batches of Cabernet Sauvignon, to sell to friends and family. The 2020 Riesling Bernkasteler Lay Auslese ** (White Capsule) is pure, refined, and fresh on the precise and concentrated but bright and shining, transcendental nose that is intense and ripe but doesn't show any tropical fruit aromas. Crystalline, highly refined and saline on the palate, this is a rich and very intense Riesling whose electric acidity takes all the weight and concentration up a steep flight to heaven, where the wine flies possibly forever like a satellite around the globe. The finish is so juicy, so saline and so precise that one can't leave the glass without a sense of wonder. So much finesse and intensity in one glass.

The wine-making process used for this Crémant is called “Méthode Champenoise”, and it is aged for nine months. When poured, its colour appears as pale gold with a slight hint of green. The Crémant has fine bubbles and a strong aroma of white flowers and citrus fruit. It has a creamy and smooth texture, with long-lasting flavours of freshly baked bread, golden delicious apples, and Meyer lemon. This Crémant is perfect as an aperitif and also pairs well with ceviche, salads, white fish, or soft cheeses.

This specific clone of Refosco is called Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso which is a result of a viticulture pursuit that started in 2000. The first vintage of this wine was in 2001. This specific area in which these grapes grow is a microclimate that is now known as Podere dei Blumeri. This blend of soft and strong delivers an incredible bouquet of blue and purple flowers, blackcurrant, morello cherry with balsamic and tobacco on the finish.

Peri Bigogno
Peri Bigogno, a family of winemakers since 1946, traces its roots to the Castenedolo hill, nestled between the city of Brescia and Lake Garda, where the passion for viticulture has thrived for centuries. For over seventy years, the Peri family has worked to preserve the winemaking traditions of their region. In 1972, Mario and Maria pioneered the creation of "Gobbo," a blend of the best red grapes, followed by the first harvest of Chardonnay in 1980, dedicated to producing Castenedolo’s first “Champennoise” sparkling wine. Today, their son Andrea and his wife Francesca continue the legacy, sharing their wines both in Italy and internationally.
