Elegant & Classic
This Barolo is the flagship wine of the cellar where the grapes are grown on vines planted in 1968. These wines are tediously aged in glass for 10 years and are only produced within the best vintages. This wine is a true work of art that is an homage to Domenico and Giuliana’s daughter. Although the vines are old the first vintage produced is 1995, since then only certain vintages are selected to proceed into a Percristina. The sensory nature of this wine is profound, this is for those with true appreciation of the art of Barolo. The soil is optimal with sand, loam, clay and active limestone, over time it becomes much more than wine. This is a once in a life-time 2010 vintage scored 99 from James Suckling, and the family describes as deeply emotional and sentimental.
About the Winery
Domenico Clerico
Located at the heart of Barolo in Monforte d’Alba, the Domenico Clerico estate has been making iconic wines since 1976, when the eponymous young winemaker took the reins. Beginning with just a small 4-hectare farm inherited from his father, Domenico sought out the best undiscovered plots in Barolo, thus pioneering the idea of single cru wines.
